Step 1: Hide Selection and Grading

Every hide is inspected on arrival for grade, thickness consistency and surface quality. Full-grain hides — the outer layer, with the natural grain intact — go to premium glove and jacket lines where surface texture and strength matter most. Split leather, taken from lower layers, is graded separately for products where a suede-like finish or lower cost point is appropriate.

Step 2: Tanning

Tanning converts raw hide into a stable material that won’t decompose or stiffen. Our partner tannery manages this stage under documented process controls, with wastewater handled through proper effluent treatment rather than informal discharge — a distinction worth asking any supplier about directly, since it’s not something a finished product visibly shows.

Step 3: Cutting

Step 4: Stitching and Reinforcement
